    Scotland

Some comments...

Now, it doesn't take much imagination to realize that Scotland is an important section of the electorate for the Labour party. Any success in any early UK election will revolve around their performance in Scotland.

On the other hand the SNP so far are doing well and Alex Salmond is setting a useful and productive agenda. His establishment of a Commission concerning broadcasting, for example see our first article, has far reaching implications which we will refer to in some coverage which will be posted shortly.

What is important, with all due respect to the political parties is, however, that the people of Scotland look to how the political system in general affects the degree to which their preferences are taken into account. Indeed, people need to remain attentive to the degree to which politicians are in fact seeking out our preferences rather than trying to force feed us with their own. Above all this is something to be wary of in the context of Europe as outlined in our leader.

We don't intend to bore our readership with this topic of freedom but it is so important that we will return to it from time to time since it is fundamental to our survival as a people and a nation within a United Kingdom or in any other arrangement which we may eventually decide.

We are updating this section and by mid-August we will initiate full editorial operations

In the meantime we would welcome any suggestions from anyone on topics they would like us to address. If there is something you feel is of importance and the other media are not providing sufficient coverage, please tell us and we will see what we can do.

As a member of the Agence Presse Européenne Group we have a policy of right of reply. This means anyone disagreeing with anything we state can write in and put use right. If their argument has merit we will publish it; keep that in mind if and when you contact us.
